Hi Babes.  Happy Monday!

So maxi skirts are a major source of confusion for all my gal pals.  They continue to be a big trend but they easily make us look frumpy, old, dorky, fat, ect.

Crop tops…also a major source of confusion.  They’re everywhere but isn’t showing our whole mid-section when not at the beach very 1997 feeling?

Don’t fret because these two scary trends actually work really well back to one another and can also be super figure flattering! Who would have thought?!

Let’s start with the maxi-I prefer a high waisted one as it is going to add some shape to your figure. This Naven one is just heavenly for accentuating a small waist. Regardless or the fit, I always recommend pairing your full length skirts with a slim top and with a small heel.  These two elements will keep you from looking like a small {or large} house.

Crop tops-I recommend pairing them with a high waisted bottom.  Back in the day it was cool to show your belly button down to your hip bone.  That’s why we all pieced our mid section right?!  NOW we want to show skin only above our belly button {no piercing needed}.  The way to achieve this look is to grab a high wasted bottom. This trend works especially well for girls who are pear shaped p.s.

Make the look extra playful with a pair of sunnies with colored lenses.  This pair from ASOS is the perfect way to get the trend for a price that won’t make you feel sad.

Don’t  forget…last day to enter the Wildbutterfly Boutique contest!!! Check it out here!
