Nikki began her career as a buyer for one of New York City’s most recognizable Soho boutiques. Specializing in bringing European fashion and Couture designs to the New York woman, it was here that Nikki cultivated her eclectic style and extensive knowledge of the fashion world at large. Eager to be engaged in a more ‘hands on’ approach to fashion, she soon transitioned into a position as a Personal Shopper. Here Nikki was able to learn the art of styling and tailoring and was able to build a client base of New York socialites, Television personalities and Celebrity wives.
After gaining invaluable experience in the buying and personal shopping world, Nikki decided to pursue a career that would take her further behind the scenes of fashion. She began working as an account executive and was soon representing some of the top contemporary brands on the market. During this time Nikki also began serving as a consultant for up and coming young designers, helping them to shape their vision into a clear, cohesive brand and assisting in merchandising their collections.
At present Nikki remains a constant in the behind the scenes fashion world, working as a National Sales Manger for a women’s Ready To Wear collection and as a free-lance stylist. As a stylist Nikki has had the opportunity to work with an incredible variety of photographers, musical artists, fashion brands and young celebrities. She was also an original stylist for Myfashionplate.com, an organization that made fashion styling accessible to the masses.
After years of encouragement from friends and colleagues to show what life looked like behind the scenes, The Style Me Nikki Blog was born. This is a place where Nikki expresses her own sense style and also offers a glimpse into the working world of the NYC fashion industry. A blend of tom-boy, bohemian, and metropolitan, Nikki’s personal style has best been described as a true fashion dichotomy.
