With the Holidays sneaking up on us I think it’s appropriate to start talking about festive looks.  In case you hadn’t noticed, I always err on the side of casual, and am not one to wear dresses to non formal events {unless I’m having a tutu moment in my mind in which case I’ll go there 100%}.  This little combo feels incredibly celebratory due to the encrusted peter pan collar but is still super comfortable and relaxed.

To make the overall look even more special I changed up my hair game a bit.  I am definitely a creature of habit and almost always go with free flowing, wild waves but this deep side part with Bobby pins is something I’ve been wanting to try since I saw it in Peter Som’s Fall 14 show.  There’s something very doll like about this hair style and I  thought it complimented the sweet Peter Pan collar perfectly.

Now, I want to talk about these shoes for a hot second before signing off for the day.  In truth I gave up on designer shoes in 2008.  I was out at our corner bar enjoying a Wednesday night beer, wearing spiked Loubouotins with jeans.  On my half a block walk home my heels snapped in between the sidewalk crack and my beautiful $700 babies were destroyed.  In that moment my frugal heart realized that unless you’re a city girl who takes cabs EVERYWHERE it does not make sense to rock designer shoes.  So I swore them off from my day to day wardrobe, vowing to only invest for special occasions.  This is the one pair of designer shoes that I wear on a regular basis because they are 1) crazy comfy 2) crazy classic.  So my point is if you are going to buy a single pair of designer shoes, let it be basic pointed toe black pumps because they NEVER go out of style.  These have been worn to the ground allowing my other precious footwear investments to be perched on a shelf and left in perfect condition.
